Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! We are looking forward to working with all of you.
COURSE GOALS/ OBJECTIVES:
1. Students will use algebraic, graphical and numerical representations to analyze, compare translate and solve linear equations.
2. Students will use and solve systems of equations.
3. Students will use symbolic algebra to solve linear equations.
Grading Policy:
Assessments will be divided into three categories.
Assessments 80% |
Quizzes, Tests, Classwork Assignments |
Homework 5% |
Will be collected and graded on completion and effort. |
Quarterly Exam 15% |
Administered at the end of each marking period. |

- Please be on time.
- Late to class means you are not in your assigned seat when the bell rings.
If you are late, please do not disrupt the class already in progress.
- Late to class with a pass: Please put pass on my desk.
- Late to class without a pass: Please explain your lateness at the end of class.
- As per school policy, you will be written up after 5 lates.
- If you have a pass to leave for an appointment, please check with me first.
- Please remain in your seat at all times, until you are dismissed.
4. Classwork/Homework:
- You are EXPECTED to participate actively. That means paying attention in class, COMPLETING classwork and homework.
- Only fully completed work will be given credit.
- Late assignments will not be accepted without a valid excuse or with penalty.
5. Absent:
- You are responsible for making up missed work.
- All makeup work must be completed within two days upon return.
- There is a makeup work section in the back of the classroom.
6. Behavior:
- All school rules and policies are in effect during class.
- RESPECT your school, teachers, and classmates.
- Follow instructions
- Do not call out, raise your hand and listen when others speak.
- Please refrain from taking out grooming products during class.
- Failure to abide by the classroom rules will result in: 1) verbal warning, 2) a phone call home accompanied by a teacher detention 3) Conduct referral
7. Academic Dishonesty will not be tolerated. All students involved will receive a grade of zero for quiz/test/assignment/homework in question.
